Weight Loss? You Can Do It!

I can’t do this anymore.

It’s taking too long to lose weight.

I don’t want to exercise.

If I eat another salad, I may lose it.”

We’ve all been there.

A healthy lifestyle should be a seamless, easy routine, but anyone can feel discouraged at times. It takes a lot of work to lose one pound (the equivalent of 3,500 calories!).  And while many of us may feel like we gain weight very quickly, most of us will agree it feels like forever to take it off.

So, where do we go from here?

Well, a positive attitude makes a world of difference. Really.

Embracing healthier choices will make them that much easier to stick with.

Instead of feeling gloomy about foods you are limiting, look forward to your lighter favorites and reinvent some of those old recipes.

Secondly, stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You are you and be proud! Everyone has something special about them, and that includes you! Focus on your fantastic attributes and remember how amazing you are.

Next: Choose realistic, attainable goals. Slow and steady wins the race. (Of course you remember that kids’ tale.)

Healthy weight loss means losing one to two pounds per week. Crash diets and fasting run the risk of dehydration and malnourishment. Eat light and balanced to maintain a healthy metabolism and proper nutrition.

Lastly, I always like to remind everyone: changes don’t happen over night and setbacks happen. We’re human after all! So maybe you had a few extra snacks or you didn’t hit the gym as often as you had planned. It’s okay!

Don’t quit and waste all of your strong efforts. Instead, pick back up where you left off, and keep moving forward!

Anything is possible with hard work and the right attitude.
