Don’t Back Off Your Back!

Balance is an essential element to effective fitness training. Too many people focus on one or two body parts or area (usually the “vanity muscles–arms, chest) and neglect everything else. That strategy will have you looking more like a cartoon character than someone who’s fit and strong.

One area often overlooked is the back. It’s hard to see the results of your efforts so most people don’t bother.

Wrong move.

Not only does your back deserve attention but neglecting it can lead to chest and shoulder strains and injuries because the muscles aren’t countered by a strong back.

And don’t forget: the back is not one big muscle. A proper back strategy means numerous exercises to hit the major and secondary muscles throughout the area.

In fact you should work a back day into your training regiment each week. Here are some suggestions.
